Jane Alexandra Cormack
Jane currently works as a director and facilitator of her own company, Rhythm In Colour. These workshops connect women through creativity using music, movement, colour and word.
Jane completed her Masters Degree in Creative & Professional Writing in West London in September 2009. The final result was a collection of poetry and paintings. Jane's poems have been published in separate anthologies in the UK as well as in an educational book for schools in the Philippines.
Eco-Design
Jane gained a BA honours degree in Design and Craft from Gray's School of Art in Aberdeen and began her own jewellery, accessory and 3D design business in 2001. Her work focuses on eco-friendly design with an emphasis on recycled and natural materials. Jane's 'green' jewellery designs were featured in the L'Oreal International 35mm of Fame Calendar 2005 in Sydney, Australia whilst she had a regular stall at the well known Paddington Markets in Sydney.
Female Nomad
After travelling as a solo young woman around Europe, North, Central and South America, Jane moved to Australia where she lived for two years. There she worked on her design business travelling regularly to Bali, Indonesia to work with gifted crafts-people on her accessory designs.
Jane has travelled extensively around the world from Europe and Eastern Europe and the Americas, to Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and Scandinavia but returned to the UK in 2008 to explore the wonders on her doorstep. She is currently based in Edinburgh.
Writing & Film
Whilst living in New Zealand for two years, Jane worked as a Freelance Writer for the local newspaper in Queenstown. During her stay in New Zealand she also worked in the Film and Television industry as a freelance Arts Assistant and Props Buyer on short films, commercials and a television series.
Natural Healing
Jane's interest in eco, green and simple living carries forth into all areas of life from her design work to personal health. She is an advocate of the use of natural cosmetics and household products and chooses alternative methods of healing rather than conventional. Jane has independently studied her own natural healing path through nutrition, acupuncture, massage, yoga, dance therapy, spirituality and the power of thought and feeling.
